DJ Lee, author of Remote: Finding Home in the Bitterroots will give a talk for the Forest HIstory Society entitled “Isolation and Wilderness: The Surprising Ways American Wilderness Intersects with the COVID-19 Pandemic,” exploring the surprising ways in which American wilderness, as a concept and a physical place, intersects with some of the causes and effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Richard Brown with be joined by coauthor Brian Benson at Powell's City of Books in Portland for a conversation about Brown's new memoir, This Is Not For You: An Activist's Journey of Resistance and Resilience. The book tells the story of activist and photographer Richard Brown, a Black Portlander who has spent decades working to bridge the divide between police and the Black community. Brown’s memoir (written with Brian Benson) brings readers with him into the streets with fellow activists, into squad cars with the rank-and-file, and to regular meetings with mayors and police chiefs.
